What is Assam DARPAN Portal
The Higher Secondary (HS) First Year Course admissions procedure for the academic year 2023–2024 will be handled through the DARPAN portal at various colleges throughout Assam. From May 29 through June 17, 2023, the portal will be open for use. On Thursday, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) made this announcement. No institutions will perform offline admissions, according to the AHSEC. Beginning the first week of August 2023, the registration process for the academic year 2023–2024 will begin. Only students who have completed the admissions process through the DARPAN portal will be permitted to finish the registration process.

Assam DARPAN Portal- Guidelines for Students
The following are the instructions given to the students:
- The DARPAN Portal is where an applicant must submit their application.
- A student’s profile can only be changed once before the university verifies their applications.
- A student may submit up to five (5) applications in total.
- The pupils will have access to the published Selection List and Waiting List for admission into the first year of high school through the DARPAN portal. SMS will be used to inform the pupils of their selection.
- Students are recommended to accept just one admission offered by the University for Admission using their login ID in the portal as soon as possible after the release of the Selection List.
- A student won’t be able to switch institutions once the application has been approved.
- For the admissions procedure to be completed, the student must enrol in the institution in question within the allotted time frame.
- At the time of admission, students will be able to change their desired subject(s) or stream, and the institution in question will need to update this information in the portal that day.
Assam DARPAN Portal– Guidelines for Institutions
The following are the instructions given to the Institutions:
- The institutions must make sure that admissions into the HS First Year program involve online verification. The institution in question won’t be able to validate the submitted application after receiving the applications.
- The competent institutions will prepare the Selection List and Waiting List for admission into the first year of high school after the applications have been verified.
- Students can see the selection list and waiting list for admission on the website (www.dapan.ahsec.in). Additionally, pupils will receive an SMS alerting them of their choice.
- When openings on the waiting list or changes in student acceptance of admission necessitate updating the selection list, the relevant Institution will need to do so regularly.
- The institutions must use their Institution Login ID daily during the admission process, at the latest by June 17, 2023, when a chosen student accepts the admission offer from the institutions, and then click the “Confirm admission” option to finish the admission process in the portal.
- Only those applicants who have accepted the admission offer can have their admission confirmed by the university. All concerned Institutions are urged to physically check all of the documentation that students have supplied at the time of admission.
- A student’s desired subject(s) or stream may only be changed by an institution at the time of admission with the student’s proper authorization, and the institution in question must update this information in the portal on the day of admission.
- Additionally, even after the admissions process is complete, changes or alterations to a student’s stream and subjects will be accessible in the DARPAN portal. However, after submitting their registration in full, students are not permitted to switch their subject(s) or stream.
- If desired, the institution in question will be able to remove the students from the Selection List who have not accepted the admission offer within the allotted period. As a result, after applications are removed from the selection list, the institution will be allowed to add new students from the waiting list.
- It is not acceptable for institutions to admit students without their consent.
- The enrollment of students from other institutions through the institutions listed under the DARPAN portal is not permitted.
- The institution in question will be able to upload the proper needed document (s) as provided by the students in the event that the students upload the incorrect document(s).
How to Apply for HS 1st Year Online Admission through Assam DARPAN Portal
- First of all, go to the official website of the Assam DARPAN i.e., https://darpan.ahseconline.in/
- The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
- Now from the homepage, go to the student admission option.
- A new page will be displayed on the screen.
- Click on the ” Don’t have account? Click here to register a new account ” option if you are not already registered.
- Enter the registration details in the application form and get yourself registered.
- Now after successful registration, click on the student admission option.
- A new login page will be displayed on the screen.
- Enter the 10 digit mobile number, date of birth, and four digit pin and click on the login option.
- After successful login enter the details in the application form for the admission.
- In the end click on the submit option.

- The login page will open on the screen
- Now, click on the New Institution Registration
- A new page will open on the screen
- Now, fill in the form with all the required details like:

- Post Office
- Village/Ward/Town
- PIN No
- Sub Division
- Name of the Principal
