Himanta Biswa, the chief minister of Assam, has started the Sva-Niyojan Yojana to help the state’s small businesses get off the ground. Under this program, the government will give entrepreneurs financial support of Rs 2 lakh to help them run their businesses. This will see the inclusion of 1 lakh entrepreneurs in the state over three years. The recipients of the program would get installment payments from the Assam government as seed capital investment. The applicant may choose the company of his choice once the funds have been deposited into the beneficiary’s bank account.
