On August 25, the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor’s office restricted Union Territory residents exclusively from receiving land under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) program for the needy. A person shall be deemed landless if he is a domicile of J&K has a separate family, does not have land in his own name or in the name of any of his family members, or is not entitled to inherit five Marlas or more land. J&K Land for Landless Scheme 2024
The allocation of 5 Marla land to PMAY beneficiaries who are landless has been ordered by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. The government of Jammu and Kashmir is providing 5 Marla land under this program to those who do not currently own homes so they can construct their ideal residences. On June 21, 2023, the Administrative Council of Jammu and Kashmir made this significant choice. The third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will be made available to Jammu and Kashmir’s beneficiaries who have been left out or who do not own their own home but want to apply for this program.
