The parents of beneficiary couples from Scheduled Caste, Exempted Caste, Nomadic Tribe, Special Backward Class, and Other Backward Class will receive financial help of Rs 20,000 through the Kanyadaan Yojana.
Eligibility Criteria for Kanyadan Yojana Maharashtra
Following is the Eligibility Criteria for Kanyadan Yojana Maharashtra
- The bride and groom, upon marriage, must be Maharashtra state citizens.
- The age of the groom must be at least twenty-one (21) and the age of the bride cannot be less than eighteen (18).
- One or both of the bride and groom must belong to either Scheduled Caste or Open Caste or Other Backward Class or Nomadic Tribe or Special Backward Class.
- Kanyadaan grant scheme will only be given on the first marriage of the bride and groom.
- At least ten couples (20 grooms and 20 brides) must carry out the marriage ceremonies in a mass marriage ceremony.
