Khela Hobe Scheme 2024
As the Centre had stopped financing the 100-day job program in January 2022, Mamata Banerjee announced on Friday that her government will create a program called Khela Hobe to provide jobs to individuals who had cards under the program. 2.6 crore individuals participated in the 100-day labor plan under NREGS at its height, but that number has since dropped to 1.4 crore (according to central estimates), serving as the foundation of Bengal’s rural economy. These employees make up 8% of the Scheduled Tribes and about 28.5% of the Scheduled Castes. Despite Bengal being the state with the best performance over the previous five years, the BJP-led central government has stopped funding the 100 initiative.
