New Central Sector Scheme 2024

The Department of Promotion of Industry and internal trade has launched the New Central Sector Scheme. This scheme focuses on the industrial development of Jammu and Kashmir. Industrial leaders are encouraged to invest in Jammu and Kashmir so that the union territory can develop. Through this scheme, four types of incentives are offered to the industrialists who invest in Jammu and Kashmir which are capital investment incentive, capital interest subvention, goods and service tax linked incentive, and working capital interest subvention. This scheme will help in the creation of more employment opportunities and the promotion of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is estimated that nearly 78000 persons’ employment will be generated through this scheme. This information has been shared by the minister of state in the ministry of commerce and industry Shri Som Prakash in Lok sabha on 4th August 2021. The budget of this scheme is 28400 crore. All the Eligible industrial entities or service sector enterprises other than those that are run by the government can take the benefit from this scheme. It is mandatory for the business enterprise to be registered under goods and service tax.

New Central Sector Scheme Web Portal

Through the New Central sector scheme, various other sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and handicraft will be benefited. This scheme will make Jammu Kashmir self-reliant, developed, and empowered. On the occasion of the launch of the web portal, the minister of state in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, minister of state for home Nityanand Rai, minister of state for commerce and industries Somprakash and anupriya Patel were present. Other than that Jammu Kashmir’s lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha was also present in the event virtually.

The portal has been designed and developed for the effective implementation of this scheme in a transparent manner. The objective of ease of doing business is also considered while developing this portal. Citizens can applyfor registration, submit claims, and process within the department through this portal. This scheme will attract new investments and nurture existing ones. Around 35 thousand persons will get employment through this scheme indirectly.
