PAN Card Correction – In India, the Permanent Account Number (PAN) is extremely significant, both for income tax purposes and as identification documentation. PAN Card Correction/ Update Online

By following the instructions listed below, you can quickly update or change your personal information on a PAN card:

PAN
  • Choose “PAN” from the Services Section.
  • Under the “Change/Correction in PAN Data” box, click “Apply”.
  • Choose “Changes or Correction in existing PAN data/Reprint of PAN Card (No modifications in Existing PAN Data)” from the “Application Type” dropdown menu.
  • Choose the appropriate assessee category from the “Category” drop-down box. For instance, if your PAN is registered in your name, choose “Individual” from the list.
  • At this point, fill in your name, birthday, email address, and mobile number.
  • Fill out the captcha and press “Submit”.
  • Your request will be registered, and the email address you gave will receive a token number. By selecting the button located beneath it, you can get on with the process.
  • Choose “Submit scanned images by e-Sign on NSDL e-gov” from the three options presented when you are directed to the form after moving forward.
  • Complete all the fields, including the ones for your Aadhaar number, your mother’s name (optional), and your father’s name. Then click “Next”.
  • A new page will now be opened so you can change your address.
  • Submit all required documents, including PAN, address, age, and identification proofs.
  • Sign the declaration, then press the “Submit” button.
  • You will be taken to the payment page in the next step. Demand drafts, net banking, and credit/debit cards can all be used for payment.
  • A receipt slip will be generated following a successful payment. The applicant should print it out and return it, along with the physical verification of documents, to the NSDL e-gov office. Also, add two photos to the area provided, along with a sign. On the top of the envelope, write “Application for PAN Change” and the acknowledgment number.

PAN Card Correction/ Update Offline

The steps listed below must be followed in order to submit an offline application for a PAN Card correction or update:

  • Download the Request for New PAN Card or/and Updates or Correction in PAN Data Form.
  • Carefully complete all of the form’s required fields.
  • Upload any supporting documentation, including identification and address proofs and passport-size photos.
  • After completing the form, turn it into the nearby NSDL collecting center.
  • You must pay the necessary fees for offline PAN card updates/corrections. You will then receive a 15-digit acknowledgment number that you can use to check the status of your PAN card application.

Change Name on PAN Card

On a PAN card, it is possible that the names are written incorrectly in some cases. Several people don’t know how to alter their name on their PAN card after getting married. In such circumstances, names in it can be updated. By using the previously mentioned online or offline PAN Card update/correction process, you can change the name on a PAN Card. While requesting a name change on your PAN card, bear the following points in mind:

  • The PAN card form must be properly completed with accurate information provided at all times.
  • Before submitting the form, the attached photo and signature are required.
  • A demand draft in the name of NSDL must be delivered with the application form if it is submitted offline to the NSDL’s registered address.

How to Change Name in PAN Card Online

  • Using TIN-NSDL or UTIITSL, the request can be made for online applications.
  • The payment must be done online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking in the case of the online application.
  • It generates a 15-digit acknowledgement number that can be used to check the status of a PAN card.
  • Within 45 days of the application being submitted successfully, the applicant receives the new PAN card.
  • The address of the cardholder is absent from the PAN card.
  • The address to mail a hard copy of the PAN card is specified in the form. By completing the application correction form 49A offline, you can get the address updated.
  • The address cannot be altered for online forms that used Aadhaar OTP for authentication. Your address is automatically assumed to be the one listed in the Aadhaar database.
  • If you want to modify this address, you must first update the address on your Aadhar card before completing PAN Card Form 49A once more.

Documents Required for PAN Card Correction

Several papers must be given to NSDL with the application form to update current PAN details. The application and supporting documentation are subsequently delivered to the nearby PAN Card centres, which are spread out across India.   • Certificate of Registration issued in the applicant’s country and duly attested by “Apostille” (for nations that have ratified the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961), the Indian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in that nation, or by duly authorized representatives of overseas branches of Scheduled Banks registered in India (in prescribed format)
  • A registration certificate from India or a permit from Indian authorities to open an office there.
