Subhiksha Keralam – A.K. Saseendran the transport minister of Kerala has launched a new opportunity which is known as the Subiksha Keralam project. He started this project by planting tapioca on a vacant lot at Karimpanapalam on Tuesday. The Kerala water authority has handed over around 4 acres of land to the corporation and that land will now be used for the cultivation of tapioca under the Subhiksha Keralam Project launched by the concerned authorities of the transport minister of the state. The Kerala corporation which has launched this project of subhiksha keralam is the first corporation to do any such thing on an individual basis. One mission is also launched so that there is proper food security in Kerala state. This mission was launched on the date of 28 April to help all people to get proper food amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The Corporation Secretary Binu Francis also commented on the launching event of the scheme and said that the previous scheme which was launched by the corporation was to help all of the people to get proper food facilities and now the next scheme is just the extended version of the previously launched Samrudhi scheme. More land and more workforce will be available under this new scheme launched by the corporation to plant tapioca. The concerned authorities are also saying that the cultivation of the plant will be more than 15 hectares. The previous objective of the corporation was to cultivate the plant in around 5 hectares only. This will be a very great initiative for all of the people who want to help the earth to be getting greener and more healthy to live in.

Vegetable cultivation will be spread over around 22 hectares while around 80% of homesteads will be encouraged to cultivate crops. The concerned authorities are also saying that 5.6 % of the land which is inside the borders of the city is ready to get cultivated in the present scenario. The concerned authorities are also saying that designated communities will also look for potential lands that will be helpful to be cultivated and plant more and more types of crops. Also, there are around 20 agricultural cooperative societies present in the city. All of the cooperative societies have decided that they will expand their production. The authorities said that so much cooperation will be more than enough for the successful nature of their scheme. All of the developed societies will be encouraged so they can take up large-scale farming.
