Central Sector Scholarship 2024
The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human resource development, Government of India has launched the CSSS scholarship scheme. All interested applicants are invited to apply under this scholarship scheme. The government is going to provide financial incentives to meritorious students through this scholarship scheme who belong to the economically weaker section of society so that they can get higher education. This scheme was introduced by the department of higher education during the 11th five-year plan. Through this scheme, 82000 scholarships are offered every year for which 50% of seats are reserved for girls and 50% of seats are reserved for boys. Every year the government spends Rs 1000 crores for the implementation of this scheme. Through this scholarship, scheme scholarship is offered for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Objective Of CSSS Scholarship
The main objective of CSSS scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who want to pursue higher education. Selection Criteria of CSSS Scholarship
- The merit list will be drawn on the basis of gender. The selection criteria will be based on this merit list
- Under this scholarship scheme 3% reservation will be provided to the person with disability from each State’s educational board
- Under this scholarship scheme an individual board’s quota is also real earmarked. The selection of candidate will also be based on this quota

Renewal Of CSSS Scholarship 2024
- A student can receive the benefit of the scholarship scheme for a maximum period of 5 years which includes both graduation and post graduation level
- It is mandatory for the students to pursue graduation or post graduation in the same stream
- In order to renew scholarship the student is required to maintain attendance of at least 75%
- The candidate must not be involved in any ragging activities
- Student must have secured at least 55% marks or more in the previous examination
Eligibility Criteria
- Age of the applicant must be 18 to 25 years
- The applicant must have passed class 12th or equivalent
- Candidate must be in top 20 percentile of successful candidates in relevant stream in class 12th
- The student pursuing higher education in regular mode
- The institution must be recognised by All India council of technical education, Medical council of India, dental council of India or respective regulatory authorities
- The candidate must be availing benefit of any other followers
- The income of the candidate should be less than Rs 8 lakh per annum
